I saw this skull on my hike back from looking at Mesa Falls. I inadvertently was on the "wrong" side of the river for the falls. I hiked a long a forest service road for a couple of miles and then a mile or so off road to the river where I could see the falls, though from a distance. Not far from where I hiked a forest fire was blazing. A forest service truck passed me on my way to the hike, there were planes flying over it the whole time I was out there and when I drove back there were a number of forest service, fire, and police vehicles on the side of the road. Where the dirt road met with the highway there were several people who had come out to see what they could of the fire.
