Barrow's Goldeneye
Bucephala islandica
A number of these birds were quite near the shore when we arrived at the cove. They seemed a little wary of us and swam further down the shore. I thought it might be neat to get a picture of them, so I tried to sneak down to the water's edge. While I did so, they swam further out. Though I waited for some time, they never did swim back in as close as they had been when we arrived.
