Beetle Buffet

As I looked closer at the beetles, I noticed small movements. In particular, I saw the pinchers grabbing more of what ever it was they were holding on to. It seemed like they were eating something. It looks to me a little like slug flesh, but I could not say for certain. I do not know what kind of beetles they are, but they are fairly common around Sitka.

Location: Indian River Trail, Sitka, Alaska
