Black Cup Fungus
Plectania sp.

I assume this is some sort of fungus, but I have not been able to identify it yet. There were a number of these cup shaped black growths on a large rotting log above the high tide mark along the shore.

Location: Lincoln Street Beach, Sitka, Alaska
