The viewing angle really makes a difference in how shiny the bird's feathers are. The bird in this picture is the same as the one in the previous picture, but there is no hint of the bright red-orange coloring. I was hoping to get even closer pictures, but I had Rowan on my back and she was getting very impatient, so I had to move on down the trail.
