I was a little puzzled by the behavior of this bird. We were walking down the beach, when it suddenly I noticed this bird swimming like mad away from the shore. It must have been hanging out right along shore and then been unhappy with our approach. What puzzled me was why it did not fly away instead of swim. It may have just been too weak, I guess.
