Red-tail Hawk
Buteo jamaicensis

As best I could determine, this bird was a light morph Harlan's Red-tail. They are supposed to be fairly unusual, so I sent an e-mail to a birders list and got several replies. Most of those who replied indicated that it looked to them like a juvenile light-morph Harlan's Red-tail Hawk.

Location: Sawmill Creek Road, Sitka, Alaska
